Experience Bordeaux like a local with a morning at the market, a stroll through the historic center, and lunch in my historic French apartment!
We’ll begin the morning with a coffee & freshly baked croissant at the largest and oldest market in the Bordeaux. As we wander through the stalls, you’ll get the chance to mingle with locals and help choose fresh ingredients for our lunch.
From the market, we’ll take a leisurely walk through Bordeaux’s historic center, exploring charming medieval streets and passing some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. I’ll share stories about Bordeaux’s history as we make our way to my home.
Once we arrive at my apartment, we’ll prepare and enjoy a beautiful plant-based French lunch together. While we cook our seasonal menu, we’ll enjoy an apéro—a drink and small bites.
I’ll demonstrate the steps and you’re invited to participate in the cooking as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. We’ll generally make the dessert first so it has time to set or bake, and then make a main dish.
Example dishes we could make, depending on the season: Mushroom Bourguignon, Beet Tartare, Tomato Tarte Tatin, Crème Brûlée, Mousse au chocolat…and more! The recipes we make will be recreations of French classics and entirely vegan.
After cooking, we’ll enjoy conversation and laughter over a beautiful candlelit lunch.
Please note: Due to regulations, alcohol is not included in the class but you are welcome to bring your own wine or pick up a bottle at a lovely local wine shop along the way.
